Caulophylum thalictroides

Blue Cohosh grows up to 3 feet in moist areas. The leaves
are lobed. Stems of yellowish-green flowers bloom in the spring.
The root is used to ripen the cervix and initiate childbirth
by stimulating and strengthening contractions. It also eases
exhaustion during labor and helps the uterus to expel the
placenta after birth. Do not use before the last 2 weeks of
pregnancy. It can also lower blood pressure.
