Myth Busting at Motherlove

Myth: Herbal companies aren’t monitored/regulated by organizations such as the FDA
Fact: There seems to be a misconception that herbal-based companies that make supplements, such as Motherlove, don’t need to follow any regulations outlined by organizations such as the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Like all other American food or drug manufacturing facilities, whether they make herbal supplements or plastic toys, Motherlove’s facility is regulated by the FDA. The FDA conducts random site visits to ensure that sites are manufacturing exactly what they say they are producing, are following all rules and regulations, and have the documentation to prove it.
In order to ensure Motherlove meets and exceeds all requirements, we employ a full-time Quality Assurance Department at our Fort Collins, Colorado facility. This team makes sure we are compliant with both domestic and international regulations, seeks and maintains our certifications such as USDA Certified Organic, and Non-GMO, and coordinates the third-party quality and safety testing of our products.
When making our supplements, such as More Milk Plus, all of the herbs are individually tested and our supplements meet standards for purity, strength, and composition. Each step in this process is thoroughly documented and those records are kept on file and reviewed during the regulatory inspections conducted by organizations, such as the FDA. Our finished products then undergo additional testing such as microbial and heavy metal testing.
We could go on about the practices we have in place to ensure you continue to get the high quality, safe products you know and love, but we will stop here. Of course, if you have further questions about our practices, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.Tags: fda
